Job Purpose

Valuations, Markets and Analysis operates as the core business at IBA. This structured department is made up of several teams providing clients with specialist opinion and consultancy services across all sectors of our client base.


The role of Analyst, Valuations Modelling directly supports the Manager, Valuations Modelling in the automation and streamlining of repetitive and complex processes, to meet the wider team’s needs. The role involves maintaining the valuation databases, responding to client queries and the development of IBA’s valuation models. Tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Development of systems to aid the standardisation of the valuation processes
  • Maintaining all valuations/trends databases
  • Maintaining and developing IBA’s current set of models used to provide aircraft appraisals


Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the quarterly values review is successfully launched on Insights.
  • Answering and fixing issues found by the team and clients within any of IBA’s valuation models.
  • Maintenance of IBA’s databases for valuations, valuation trends and certain trends overlays.
  • Maintenance of IBA’s Excel based models, such as those used in Fly-Forward and Extended Desktop valuations.
  • Development of IBA’s Python based models used for data manipulation and visualisation.
  • Standardising and cleaning data for IBA’s valuation databases.
  • Developing processes to automatically gather data.

Skills and Experience Required

The Person

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in finance, engineering, operational research, data analysis, maths, aerospace or another numerical / research degree.
  • An interest in process automation and the development of systems to improve efficiency.
  • 1 or more years working with a coding language, at a commercial level.
  • Motivated to learn and self-develop, particularly when working with different coding languages.
  • Ideally, 1 or more years’ experience in asset valuations or pricing, preferably within the aviation industry.
  • Comprehension of finance and aircraft leasing fundamentals.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator and team player.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Superior organisational skills, flexibility managing multiple priorities, working to changing deadlines and attention to detail.


Skills

  • Commercial awareness
  • MS Excel with use of VBA.
  • Experience with a backend coding language. Preferably Python.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience using and developing webserver APIs (Working with HTML, CSS and JavaScript)
